Macau Teaser!

Before all the backlog of post processing is done, here's a small teaser of Macau.

Found this moth on the Hac Sa Beach trying to get back on its feet and fly off, but to no avail. I really hope it survived in the end.

Sungei Buloh with Hakim!

Finally had the chance to go for a photohunt with Hakim! It helps when you have friends on the same system because you get to share all your accessories, rather, I get to share all their accessories. HAHAHA, thanks Hakim, I apologise for the limited gear I have!

We wanted to have a mixture of shots, but ended up trying more macros than anything else. Probably because we were too lazy to keep removing the macro fixture on our regular lenses. HAHA! Luckily for us, we finally found a pair of bugs making out, and they became our hot subject for the next half an hour. I bet it was the most irritating mating session the bugs had in their lives, with the constant flashing and beeping all around.

Here are the pictures! Love the Hoya +4 Diopter man, such a cheap alternative to macro lens at the moment.

All in all, the trip was a great learning experience, with many learning points to take away. I managed to try out bracketing for the first time today for instance. Now it's time to experiment with HDR using the photos we took today.

Hakim, I'm looking forward to your photos too! Totally enjoyed myself today man, let's do it again soon!

Wessex Estate

I went to my uncle's art studio the other day and managed to take a few shots of the area. The estate is so different from what we are used to in other parts of Singapore, so serene and beautiful, almost in a world of its own.

No Updates!

Ever since you left, the world became colourless, not even black and white, it became colourless. There aren't many occasions to take more pictures because of your absence.

My dearest 50mm, how have you been?

HDB

After reading about some digital darkroom techniques, I decided to try it out on this set of photos! I hope the photos in the set portray a common theme and style!

Here goes!

Sandy, can I not return you your 50mm?! I'm so gonna steal it! HAHAHA

50mm Street Shots

I've been trying out the 50mm for a variety of purposes recently and it's not hard to understand why many photographers regard it as their favourite lens. It is just so versatile!

Before the actual street shots taken using the 50mm, here's one more shot of the dragonfly from the earlier post taken using the kit lens. This time without flash.

Here are the street shots with the 50mm!

Depth of Field with the 50mm!

Was playing around with the 50mm in low light conditions and managed to take a few shots with very nice bokeh! In my opinion la. =)

Have I told you I love the 50mm yet? Yums.
